Explore the power of poetry! Be inspired and learn ways to incorporate poetry into your ELA curriculum and other content areas throughout the school year. This course will emphasize using the reading-writing connection to teach many of the ELA Common Core Standards. Participants will take away practical ideas for instruction, engaging lessons, and models to motivate students to read, write, and value poetry. Grades 7-12.
This is an online course that begins on Monday, June 24th and extends to Friday, August 9th. It is a 36-hour, 3 credit graduate course divided into four modules. Optional Zoom meetings will take place on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00 pm at the beginning of each module (6/25, 7/9, 7/23, and 7/30 as noted in the Course Content & Outline section).
